FRANKENSTEIN'S SECOND MONSTER
Izzi Vieira
Oh, lover with a perfect face Clothed in lace
She graces his presence
And skin peeks through; silk and smooth
Eyes glow gold in the light of
Attention—
Out with the pitch that digs into the soul!
This gaze is
s h a l l o w
, easy to behold.
And lips soft, no chap nor crack in sight
Ready to kiss and split
and push out holy air—
O,
Born to gasp, not speak.
But away from the face! Other places to trace!
Her body of velvet is made to embrace
So slim,
She doesn’t even count as one whole
Until she’s pressed against another;
It’s her role. Small enough to swallow
But no meat on those bones
And those bones run
h o l l o w
, barely taking up space—
Look at that face. Perfection in every way
Gap between her thighs, gifted to be filled
Made whole.
Stolen waist made to hold
Hallowed a man’s child to the manchild:
(sold to the brothel right after birth.)
And tears submerge her eyes, but they’ll never slip
Just barely over the tip of the eyeline
Just until those eye lines look all perverted and red ‘Til they beg.
Vagina so tight, ‘cause it’s been put on a diet
Virgin dressed in white
But rumor has it she’s a riot in bed.
When bare ankles lift in the air
And bare shoulders quiver in despair
I’d say that’s when she’s prettiest.
Pretty face and feathered weight
Predator and prey Chastity on display
Each night in the face of arms
Displayed as the face you are
Stolen straight out of a man’s bloody ribcage
so she could be fucked over.
Piles after piles of makeup scarfed down
so she could be fucked over.
Shoved face-down into a plate of leaves
so she could be fucked over.
Targeted by men creating the standards
who want to fuck her over.
The central focus of a million stares
watching men fuck her over.
And over
And over
And over
And over
And over.

Gloria Isabella Pagui Vieira (also known as Izzi) has been writing poetry and fiction for as long as she can remember. Her dream is to follow through with one of her various plot ideas and commit to writing a book, though procrastination and writer's block plague her deeply. She currently goes to Portland Community College, but plans to pursue psychology at the University of Oregon. Other than writing, she loves fashion, sculpting and painting, dancing, crocheting, and singing along to musicals in her car, though she is rather mediocre at all those things.
